I Can’t Believe or Accept it!

I can not believe that the United States allowed the prime minister of Iran the privilge of speaking at Columbia University. I believe in freedom of speech, but this man is “fighting a proxy war” against the U.S. by funding and supplying the Iraqi insurrgents. He is responsible for the deaths of many American servicemen and women. I do not think it is wise nor right to allow him a spotlight in our own backyard.

Immigration Debate

The immigration bill that is being debated in the Congress is facing a lot of oppostion among the population. Most polls show substantial sentiment that there is not enough in the bill to secure the border and assure that there will not be another wave of millions that will be here illegally again in a few years.

My worry is that the politicians will not care what the people want.

The First 100 Days of Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi she has gotten off to a typical start for a politician who has risen to new heights of power. Her legislative priorities that she promised to get to the president’s desk in the first hundred days of the new Democratic dominated Congress’s term have somehow become invisible. Her promise that the Congress would work five days a week, just like the American people, is nowhere to be seen. Three days a week is a stretch for them.  Ms. Pelosi has been spending all this time trying to find ways to “payback” Republicans for the way they ran things from 1994 till this January.

Same old song, tired next verse!

Texas Lottery Revision

The Texas Lottery system has had a practice of continuing to sell scratch off tickets from a game even after the big prize has been won, meaning that in fact there is no chance of winning and the vendor knows it. The practice has really angered many citizens that frequently play the scratch off games. There has been a bill introduced to stop that practice.

I guess revenues will go down, but chances will go up!
